    Souring a new development, dreaming of a new era

    The 14th National Nutrition Science Congress and the 11th Asia-Pacific Clinical Nutrition Conference Sub-Forum "Empowering Practice, Creating the Future - Registered Nutritionist Development Forum" jointly organized by the Working Committee of Registered Dietitians of the Chinese Nutrition Society, the Education Working Committee of the Chinese Nutrition Society and the Medical Food and Nutrition Support Branch of the Chinese Nutrition Society were successfully held at the Nanjing International Expo Conference Center. The forum invited well-known nutrition experts and registered dietitians at home and abroad to discuss the professional capacity-building of dietitians and the exploration of the professional practices of dietitians, and to bring a feast for participants to think about the career development of nutritionists from a broader perspective.

    Vice Chairman of the Chinese Nutrition Society, Shanghai Professor Cai Wei of Xinhua Hospital, Peking Concord Hospital, Professor Chen Wei, Former President of the International Alliance of Dietitians Associations, Former President of the Australian Dietitians Association, Professor Sandra Capra AM of the University of Queensland, Australia, Professor Liu Yinghua of the Nutrition Department of the PLA General Hospital, and Dr. Yin Qing from the Group of Nutritionists, respectively, from neonatal nutrition support, standardized NCP exploration and application in China, dietitians' role in diet management, weight management and diabetes management. This paper introduces the importance of nutrition support and nutrition management, the significance of standardized and standardized nutrition workflow for promoting nutritionist nutrition diagnosis and treatment, how dietitians correctly understand and carry out dietary management, what dietary management skills should be available, and how to manage patients' weight and diabetes based on scientific evidence-based and standardized diagnosis and treatment processes. Case-by-case sharing also presents participants with cutting-edge ideas and solutions to look to the future of nutritionist career practice blueprints.

    President of the Alliance of Asian Dietitians Associations, Chairman zhang Zhiliang of the Hong Kong Nutrition Society and Minister Wang Xiaoli of the Education and Training Department of the Chinese Nutrition Society introduced the professional capacity-building of Asian dietitians and the professional ability requirements of China's registered dietitians, respectively. Through the development of professional competence standards for dietitians, the scope of work of dietitians is defined, not only to assess the nutritional practices of dietitians, to identify areas for improvement in nutrition work, but also to provide the framework and scope of work for dietitians, thus ensuring their professional and safe practice. At the same time, the professional capacity-building of dietitians will enhance public understanding of the profession of dietitians, thereby ensuring public and social respect for the profession of dietitians. In the future, the Chinese Nutrition Society will continue to focus on the training of nutrition professionals, providing talent support for the implementation of the National Nutrition Program (2017-2030) and the Health China Initiative (2019-2030), building a solid foundation for the professional development of nutritionists and building a bridge for the certification of the professional abilities of nutritionists.
