html" class="zdbq" title="Pistachio related food information" target="_blank">pistachio production in the 2020/2021 season broke the original record, reaching 985,000 tons, an increase of 40% over the same period last year.
Adequate supply resources, trade volume, consumption and inventory of pistachios in the world have also increased.

The high production of pistachios in the 2020/2021 season mainly comes from the foodmate.

According to the latest statistics from the U.
    S.
Department of Agriculture, the 2020/2021 season of pistachios in the United States will usher in a bumper harvest year, and the output is forecast to increase by 42%, reaching an all-time high of 476,000 tons.
The export volume also increased by 20% over last year, reaching 225,000 tons.
China and the European Union are important export markets.
In addition, the inventory of pistachios in the United States has also risen, reaching 139,000 tons.

Turkish pistachio production has almost tripled in the 2020/2021 season, reaching 250,000 tons.
This is also the first bumper season ushered in after the continuous rain during the pollination period in Turkey last season, and the sharp drop in output.
80% of Turkey's pistachios are concentrated in the southeastern provinces of Gaziantep and Sanliurfa.
The climatic conditions of the two regions are very suitable for pistachio cultivation this season.
However, the pistachios in Turkey are mainly for domestic consumption.

According to data from the Iranian Pistachio Association, the output of Iranian pistachios in the 2020/2021 season has fallen by 7% to about 190,000 tons, but exports have not been affected.
Due to the sufficient inventory last year, the export volume of Iranian pistachios this year increased by 15% compared with the same period last year, reaching 185,000 tons.
In the first four months of this season, Iran has been actively delivering with China, but the pace slowed down due to insufficient supply in the later period.
Pistachio stocks in Iran have fallen to 10,000 tons.

In the European market, with the decline in pistachio production in Spain and Italy during the 2020/2021 season, the total pistachio production in the EU is expected to fall between 3,000 tons and 18,000 tons.
Most are still imported from the United States, and imports are expected to increase by 15% to 120,000 tons.

China is a major importer of pistachios.
In 2020/2021, 45% of pistachios will be imported from Iran, a total of about 150,000 tons, which is slightly lower than that of Iran.
Beginning in March 2020, the Chinese government has introduced a market-based exemption policy for tariffs imposed on the United States and Canada, exempting counter tariffs against 301.
Importers can apply for tariff reductions on pistachios imported from the United States.
The validity period is one year.
In the latest list of 2021 tariff rates for imported goods announced by the State Council’s Tariff Commission at the end of last year, the provisional import tax rate for pistachios is still 5%, which will effectively promote China's pistachio import trade.
