Recently, according to the Suichuan County Medical Insurance Bureau, 20 township health centers under the jurisdiction of Suichuan County, Jiangxi Province were ordered to rectify within a time limit by the local Medical Insurance Bureau due to illegal use of restricted drugs.

It is reported that these 20 medical institutions are mainly involved in the illegal use of various traditional Chinese medicine injections such as Xueshuantong injection, Xingnaojing injection, Shengmai injection, Shenmai injection, Xiangdan injection, and Qingkailing injection.

After reviewing by "Seeing the Medical World", it was found that in the typical cases of medical insurance violations exposed this time, nearly half of the medical institutions with violations exceeding 50,000 yuan accounted for nearly half of them.

In addition, medical institutions that use traditional Chinese medicine injections that are restricted to second-level hospitals and above due to violations include:

Suichuan County Dayen Town Central Health Center and Dakeng Township Health Center illegally used Xiangdan injection, Qingkailing injection, Shengmai injection, etc.

In addition to Suichuan County, in May this year, Fujian Putian Municipal Medical Insurance Bureau also notified a number of typical cases of medical institutions illegally using drugs from medical institutions above the second level, involving 39 hospitals, township health centers, health centers and other 39 medical institutions below the second level.

It is understood that in the 2017 edition of the medical insurance catalogue, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security has limited commonly used ones, such as Tanreqing, Qingkailing, Shuanghuanglian, Houttuynia cordata, Xingnaojing, Xueshuantong, Xuesaitong, Shuxuetong, etc.

On December 3, 2021, the National Medical Insurance Administration and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security jointly issued a notice on the "National Basic Medical Insurance, Work Injury Insurance and Maternity Insurance Drug Catalogue (2021)", which stipulates that it will officially start on January 1, 2022.

In the "2021 Drug Catalogue" appendix "Ingredients of Chinese Patent Medicines", it is also clearly stipulated that Danshen injection, Qingkailing injection, Xingnaojing injection, Xueshuantong injection, Shengmai injection, Xiangdan injection, etc.

Some people in the industry believe that in the wave of strict medical insurance inspections, grassroots medical institutions need to pay more attention to legal and compliant practices
