A curfew has been imposed in Melbourne over the upgrade of the worst-hit areas of Australia's new crown.

Australia's worst-affected state of Victoria declared a state of disaster Tuesday night, upgrading prevention and control measures and imposing a curfew on the state capital, Melbourne.
Premier Daniel Andrews announced that Melbourne has upgraded its outbreak prevention and control measures since Tuesday night, upgrading the third phase of the "home order" to a more stringent phase four prevention and control measure, which is expected to last until September 13.

Andrews also announced that the rest of Victoria will implement the third phase of prevention and control measures from June 6 , the "home order" is expected to last six weeks .
Andrews said the upgrade was due to health experts saying the current measures were too slow because the two figures were "too high" for community transmission and the number of cases that could not be traced.

671 new cases came from Victoria and 123 of the deaths were from Victoria.
