[ Policies and Regulations of Chemical Machinery Equipment Network ] Water quality monitoring is one of the main contents of environmental monitoring.
The formulation and modification of water quality monitoring methods and standards play an important role in the implementation of environmental protection work.
There are many types of water pollutants, and organic matter is the more common type.
In addition to the well-known volatile organic compounds, organic pollutants include volatile organic compounds and semi-volatile organic compounds.
Among them, semi-volatile organic compounds also have a greater impact on the ecological environment and human health.

The volatility of semi-volatile organic compounds is slower than that of common volatile organic compounds, and they can exist in the environment for a longer time.
They are also easier to migrate and transform in water, air, soil and biological media, and harm the human body through bioaccumulation.
    health.
There are many types of semi-volatile organic compounds.
Generally, organic compounds such as organochlorine pesticides, organophosphorus pesticides, and other herbicides can be included.
Its common features include fat-soluble, easily soluble in organic solvents, can be partitioned in organic solvents, and can be analyzed by gas chromatography at the same time.

At present, there is no complete standard method for the determination of semi-volatile organic compounds in China.
There are only standards for individual objects, mainly gas chromatography and liquid chromatography.
In order to meet the progress of environmental protection work and the needs of environmental monitoring, we urgently need to develop fast and sensitive monitoring and analysis methods for semi-volatile organic compounds in water.
Therefore, referring to the international gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method for the determination of semi-volatile organic compounds in water, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment has compiled a draft of the "Determination of Semi-volatile Organic Compounds in Water Quality by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry" for public comments.
The deadline for comments is May 16.

"Water Quality Determination of Semi-volatile Organic Compounds by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry" specifies the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method for the determination of semi-volatile organic compounds in water.
It is suitable for screening, identification and quantitative analysis of 64 semi-volatile organic compounds in surface water, groundwater, industrial wastewater and domestic sewage.
For specific types of compounds, exclusive analytical methods should be selected on the basis of this screening.

The principle of the method is: extract the semi-volatile organic compounds in the sample with dichloromethane under the conditions of pH>11 and pH<2, respectively.
After dehydration, concentration and constant volume, the extract is separated and detected by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS), qualitatively based on retention time and characteristic ions of the target compound, and quantified by internal standard method.
This method can be used to analyze a variety of semi-volatile organic compounds, as well as a certain type or a single semi-volatile organic compound, and can be widely used in water quality detection.

In recent years, the gas chromatography mass spectrometry method has been widely used in the field of organic pollution analysis, and it has also been used more and more in environmental monitoring.
As organic pollution analysis gradually becomes an important research direction of environmental monitoring, gas chromatography mass spectrometry analysis technology will also have more room for development.
