     A few years ago, phage cloning was commonly used to obtain a complete mitochondrial genome


     In order to overcome this difficulty and improve the work efficiency of researchers, Li Jiatang's research group from the Chengdu Institute of Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences has developed a method for extracting and assembling mitochondrial whole genomes from animal whole genome data without relying on "seed" sequences, and using Python And C++ written as software - MEANGS

     For MEANGS, this study used 16 sets of data from different taxa (mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians, insects and mollusks) with different sequencing quality for correlation testing
