China News Service, Chongqing, April 13 (Zhong Yi and Fu Chunrong) The Chongqing Yintiaoling National Nature Reserve Administration issued a news on the 13th that the bureau had discovered a new peculiar species during a recent plant diversity survey.
It has been named "Wuxi Shrimp Ridge Orchid".
According to reports, in the past three years, the Chongqing Yintiaoling National Nature Reserve Administration and the team of Professor Deng Hongping of Southwest University have carried out biodiversity surveys and monitoring studies in the reserve.
After comparison of specimens, literature review and fine dissection, it was finally determined to be a new species of the genus Shrimp.
Deng Hongping introduced that the Wuxi Shrimp Orchid belongs to the Orchidaceae Shrimp Orchid genus.
The genus Shrimp is about 150 species, distributed in tropical and subtropical Asia, New Guinea, Australia, tropical Africa and Central America.
There are currently 49 species and 5 varieties in my country, which are mainly distributed in the Yangtze River Basin and other provinces to the south.
The characteristic of Wuxi shrimp ridge orchid is that the white wing edge is attached to the base of the columnar wing and forms a tube shape with a rectangular lateral fissure with three dark yellow small round protrusions.
