Objective T cells are crucial in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) by secreting inflammatory cytokines, helping autoantibody production, and forming autoreactive memory T cell.

Methods : The MRL/lpr mouse, a mouse model of NPSLE , was either systemically depleted of CD4+ T cells or intraventricularly injected with choroid plexus (CP) infiltrating T cells and subsequently assessed for changes in neuropsychiatric performan.

Methods The MRL/lpr mouse, a mouse model of NPSLE , was either systemically depleted of CD4+ T cells or intraventricularly injected with choroid plexus (CP) infiltrating T cells and subsequently assessed for changes in neuropsychiatric performan.

Results Systemic depletion of CD4+ T cells ameliorated systemic disease and cognitive defici.

Conclusions T cells, more specifically CP -infiltrating antigen-specific T cells, contribute to the pathogenesis of NPSLE , suggesting that modulating T cells may have therapeutic potential in the development of therapeutics targeting NPSL.
