World Agrochemical Network Chinese reported: ADAMA Brazil recently revealed to AgroPages that it has launched the herbicide Mayoral in the local market, calling it "innovation in rice crops"
    .

"Mayoral is a unique liquid formulation that combines two active ingredients: methamidazole nicotinic acid and imidazole nicotinic acid
    ," says ADAMA.
It has a high degree of control over the main invasive weeds of red rice and crops, and as a new solution, it is easy to handle and efficient in handling post-emergent grasses and broadleaf
    weeds.

Weeds, which often cause up to 90 percent of crop losses, are one of the main problems faced by rice growers in Rio Grande do Sul, which accounts for 70 percent
    of Brazil's total rice production.

João Ibelli, Product Manager Herbicides at ADAMA, said: "In addition to being a limiting factor in crop productivity, invasive weeds can also harm grain quality, as they compete for crop nutrients, water and light, and ultimately become reservoirs
    for pests and diseases.
    "This is the main obstacle
    to rice cultivation.

The launch of Mayoral expands ADAMA's rice portfolio, which already includes a variety of herbicide solutions
    .
Through efficient control, Mayoral eliminates grasses and broadleaf weeds, thereby improving rice yield and quality
    .

Mayoral is another innovation in one of ADAMA's five strategic pillars, with a proprietary blend of active ingredients that provide a unique solution to the market and contribute to crop sustainability
    .

Ibelli concludes, "The launch of Mayoral meets growers' need for new technology that requires less packaging than barrel blends, which means less inventory and discarding, which in turn means less water
    used when applied.
