Bor peptide field effective ablation therapy, alpha robot therapy instrument... These treatments, which sound "high-tech", are important signs for some private men's hospitals to attract patients. Reporters found that many of the treatment of thousands of yuan or even tens of thousands of yuan of the nature of the project is suspicious, medical effects are difficult to assess, and some even aggravate the patient's pain. (Xinhua, December 20)
These hospitals have introduced "new therapies" that avoid competition with other hospitals for positive technology and mask their lack of technical strength. At the same time, it can also make patients more attractive, so that some patients mistaken for a high-tech project, but also let some patients with difficult diseases see "hope". More crucially, "new treatments" can be a cover for higher fees.
China has timely launched and adjusted the "limited clinical application" of the medical technology catalog, but this catalog of technology is less variety, hospitals can easily bypass the catalog to launch other "new therapies." In April this year, the National Health And Wellness Commission issued a document requiring medical institutions to establish a new technology and new project approval process, all new technologies and projects must be approved by the Agency's Technical Management Committee and the Medical Ethics Committee before they can be carried out. However, this rule makes it difficult to curb the impulse of hospitals to introduce "new therapies". Because it's easy for hospital insiders to "water" when they review new technologies and projects they've introduced.
In order to completely close the loophole, in September this year, the National Health and Health Commission issued a document to clearly establish a negative list management system for the clinical application of medical technology, to prohibit the clinical application of medical technology to implement negative list management, some medical technology needs strict supervision of the key management. Negative lists compress the approval authority of medical institutions, and a technology can no longer be used by any institution as long as it is included in the negative list.
currently, the negative list has not yet been established, and the above-mentioned "new therapies" will continue to exist. It is imperative that negative lists be rapidly introduced to constrain such practices. (Health News)
