    According to the team leader, thermal barrier coating materials, as thermal protection coatings for high-temperature components of aero engines and gas turbines, can improve the service conditions of high-temperature components, extend service life, and save fuel.
    Currently, the most widely used thermal barrier coating material is zirconia-based material, which will undergo a phase change when the high temperature reaches about 1200 degrees Celsius, causing the coating to fall off and fail, and the service life will be exponentially reduced.
    As the requirements for the use of aero engines and gas turbines continue to increase, the operating temperature of aero engines in the future may reach 2000 degrees Celsius.

    This result is the only ultra-high temperature thermal barrier coating that can work stably for a long time at 1400-1600 degrees Celsius in the world.
    At present, the team has cooperated with Shaanxi Tianxuan Coating Technology Co.

    and other companies to produce this coating material, and the product will be supplied to many large and medium-sized research units or application units in China.
