Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has discovered three oil sites that are expected to add 650 million barrels of oil to the UAE's hydrocarbon reserves
, Offshore Engineering reported on May 20.

The company said it had identified 500 million barrels of oil in the Bu Hasa field, which is said to be Abu Dhabi's largest onshore field with 650,000 barrels of
    crude oil produced per day.

ADNOC said in a statement that the 500 million barrels of oil found from exploration wells in the Bu Hasa field opened a new formation in the field, providing a large number of additional high-quality Murban oil resources
    .

Bu Hasa is part of the ADNOC Land Lease Zone and is operated
    by ADNOC Land.

The second oil discovery was in Occidental Oil's onshore block 3, which has estimated reserves of about 100 million barrels
    .

In early 2019, Western Petroleum was granted exploration rights
    for onshore block 3.

The UAE state-owned oil company also found nearly 50 million barrels of lightweight, low-sulfur Murban-quality crude oil
in the Al Dhafra oil lease area.

The Al Dhafra Petroleum Concession Area is operated by Al Dhafra Petroleum Company, a joint venture
between ADNOC, GS Energy and Korea National Petroleum Corporation (KNOC).

In December 2021, ADNOC discovered "substantial" conventional oil, condensate and natural gas
equivalent to 1 billion barrels of oil in an exploration well in the onshore block 4 lease area.

The Block 4 leased area in Abu Dhabi is operated
    by INPEX/JODCO Japan.
