Plastic gravure ink refers to water-based inks that are printed on plastic film substrates by gravure printing.
1.
Humidity has a great influence on the volatilization and drying of ink, and it mainly affects the humidity of the environment and the humidity of hot air.
If the humidity of the environment is too high, the surface of the printing substrate will also absorb moisture, which is not conducive to the printing and drying of ink.
The humidity of the hot air has a greater impact on the drying of the ink.
2.
The influence of temperature, including both ambient temperature and hot air temperature, needs to be considered.
If the temperature of the environment is too low, the temperature of the printing substrate and the ink will be lower.
The temperature of the hot air has a great influence on the volatilization and drying of the ink during the printing process.
3.
Resin is the heart of the ink and determines the core performance of the ink.
Fourth, the influence and selection of solvents
Although water-based ink is the main solvent, it generally needs to be adjusted by adding an appropriate amount of alcohol solvent.
Alcohols are commonly used solvents to improve the volatilization and drying speed and printing performance of inks.
Usually ethanol and isopropanol are added at the same time.
Ethanol evaporates relatively quickly.
Adding an appropriate amount of isopropanol can not only improve the leveling of the ink on the film, but also has a better defoaming and anti-foaming effect on the ink.
5.
The influence and selection of neutralizer
The neutralizer is mainly used to adjust the PH value of the ink, so that the ink has better water solubility.
The general neutralizers mainly include ammonia, monoethanolamine and triethanolamine.
The volatilization speed of ammonia water is faster.
Generally, the more it is added, the faster the drying speed.
However, the smell of ammonia water is larger, and the environment and printed products need to be controlled; monoethanolamine and triethanolamine dry slowly, and their advantages are small odor and printing The pH value of the process can be kept relatively stable.
It should be selected or used in combination according to the specific situation.
Six, the influence and determination of the depth of the printing plate
The drying factor of gravure ink is also the depth of the printing plate.
The deeper the printing plate, the more difficult it is to dry.
The depth of the gravure printing plate is generally 23~27um, which not only ensures the color density and saturation of the printed product, but also Can make the ink have a faster drying speed.
Plastic gravure ink has become mature, and has basically been put into use, and is making an environmentally friendly positive contribution to the development of the printing industry!
