Vietnam's " Customs Online" reported on August 10 that the Vietnam Aquatic Products Export and Processing Association (VASEP) cooperated with the World Bank to publish an analysis report evaluating the impact of illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing on the economy
    .

Since the European Commission (EC) issued the IUU (Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing) “yellow card” warning to Vietnam in October 2017, Vietnam ’s aquatic product exports to the EU market have fallen by 12%, or about 1.
835 Billion US dollars, of which octopus exports fell 37%; shellfish fell 11%; tuna fell 2%; crabs fell 11%
    .
From 2017 to 2019, the volume of farmed aquatic products exported to the EU also dropped by 13%
    .
The report pointed out that if the violations remain unresolved, the IUU warning will be raised from the "yellow card" to the "red card", and Vietnamese aquatic products will completely lose their eligibility to enter the EU market, and the annual loss of export earnings will be more than US$500 million
