    Sinochem News reported on June 7 that after the successful completion of the FEED study in 2019, Air Liquide Engineering and Construction will continue to cooperate with Samsung Engineering to build a methanol production plant for Sarawak Petchem
    .
    Sarawak Petchem is a state-owned oil and gas company established and owned by the Sarawak State Government of Malaysia

    The methanol plant will be located in Bintulu, Sarawak, eastern Malaysia, and will produce 5,000 tons of methanol per day.
    The plant uses Air Liquide’s proprietary process technology, Lurgi MegaMethanol™, to convert natural gas into methanol
    .

    As part of the agreement, Air Liquide Engineering and Construction Company will become a technology licensor, while providing engineering and related equipment, as well as an air separation plant with a daily output of 2,200 tons of oxygen
    .
