AkzoNobel acquires Kansai Paints African paints and coatings business

On June 1, AkzoNobel announced that it had reached an agreement with Kansai Paints to acquire its paints and coatings business in Africa, which is expected to be completed in 2023

Kansai Paints operates in 12 countries in Africa, with a combined regional revenue of approximately EUR 280 million, and the transaction includes the Plascon brand, which has a history of more than 100 years in South Africa

Expected acquisitions also include automotive and protective coatings, wood and coil coatings
