Alcatel Subsea Networks has signed an agreement with Nexans Norway for the supply of submarine cables for Alcatel's Johan Castberg project in the Barents Sea
    .

In fact, the Johan Castberg project in the Barents Sea was developed by Equinor, with Alcatel Subsea Network responsible for the project's permanent reservoir monitoring (PRM) services
    .
    It is also part of
the PRM framework agreement between Equinor and Alcatel.

PRM project management in both areas will be shared, resulting in synergies and savings, says Equinor, the first in the world to
install the tool before production starts.

Nexans Norway will produce the required backbone cable systems and inter-station cables at its Rognan, Norway plant, including more than 200 kilometers of submarine cables
    .
The connection between the stations will be produced
at Alcatel Subsea Networks' plant in Calais, northern France.

    In addition, 3,700 sensors
will be laid on the seabed of the Johan Castberg field.
The cable will begin sending imagery before its launch in 2022, including information about the reservoir, assisting with the placement of the well and the control
    of production and injection.
