In the past 200 years, the life expectancy of human beings worldwide has been steadily increasing.
Researchers included 1,249 healthy elderly (65-79 years old) in this study, and recorded complete data on dietary intake and vitamin supplements of all patients within 7 days, and performed them with a short physical fitness test and a grip strength meter.
The results of the study showed that the intake of vitamin B-6 was significantly related to the increase in hand grip strength, but for this association, the researchers found that there was a significant interaction between the intake of vitamin B-6 and the level of physical activity.
Figure: The relationship between vitamin B-6 and physical fitness
This study confirms that vitamin B-6 intake is only related to higher hand grip strength among participants with less physical exercise, while for the elderly with higher physical exercise intensity, the intake and function of vitamin B-6 are improved.
