Non-alcoholic fatty liver is a major public health problem because its prevalence is increasing year by year and the risk of complications is also increasing.

This is a 31-year prospective cohort study of 1,315 participants.

The results of the study showed that the prevalence of fatty liver in all patients was 16.

This study confirms that passive smoking in children and adults is associated with an increased risk of fatty liver in adulthood, which indicates that the prevention of passive smoking should be started as soon as possible and throughout life.
