Recently, Ameresco has completed a 2.
    5 MW photovoltaic project
    for the U.
    S.
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) at the El Paso Intelligence Center in Texas.
The installation is the first solar installation
    developed on-site by DEA.

Ameresco Executive Vice President and General Manager of Federal Solutions said, "As we celebrate the operation of this new solar system, Ameresco applauds
the leadership and vision of the DEA and El Paso Intelligence Center.
We are proud to be a DEA partner
in the agency's first renewable energy system.

The PV project consists of a pair of
ground-based solar power plants at the El Paso Intelligence Center site.
During the 9,000-hour project construction, more than 7,340 solar panels
    were installed on site.

The project, which is now operational, will reduce electricity costs, provide long-term price stability, and reduce carbon emissions
by more than 3,400 metric tons per year.
Ameresco will own and operate solar projects for 20 years
    .

The DEA signed the Ameresco contract
with the Energy Efficiency Performance Contract (ESPC) in September 2017 through the U.
    S.
Department of Energy's ESPC ENABLE program.
Overall, ESPC is expected to save more than $9.
    2 million in energy costs
    .

During the development phase, the U.
    S.
Department of Energy's Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) provides technical support for project development, including funding
through the Assistance to Federal Facilities and Energy Efficiency Technologies (AFFECT) program.
