    The Peruvian Ministry of Production announced that the second anchovy production season in the southern seas of this year will be officially launched on July 1, with a total quota of 409,000 tons

    The southern sea area is counted from the south of 16°00'S to the southernmost point of Peru's maritime jurisdiction
    .
    The new production season will last until December 31.
    If all quotas are completed during the period, the production season will also be declared over

    However, during the harvest season, the Peruvian Institute of Oceanography (Imarpe) will make scientific recommendations based on biological and environmental conditions at any time, which may affect the fishing cycle and final yield

    The Peruvian authorities stated that only ships and enterprises authorized by the government can enter the fishing area to produce fishmeal and fish oil, and all fishing vessels must comply with the maximum fishing quota

    The Peruvian authorities also stipulated that the quota for the new production season only allows 10% of juvenile fish or the threshold proportion that does not meet the standard specifications, and the accidental catch rate of other anchovy resources shall not exceed 5% of the total production
