The Angolan government has set a target of achieving 60% domestic electricity penetration by 2025, with 70% expected to come from renewable sources

To support this goal, the African Development Bank (ADB) recently announced that it will provide $1 million in assistance to support private investment
in Angola's renewable energy sector.
The funds will be allocated through ADB's Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA) and will facilitate the establishment of a one-stop shop
called Energy Project Implementation Support (EPISU).
The assistance will target Angola's Independent Electricity Producers (IPPs).
As part of the initiative, SEFA will serve as an "enabling environment" for independent power producers and public-private partnerships, and will provide technical assistance
related to project procurement, contract design implementation and monitoring, according to the African Development Bank.
