On November 18, the Chinese Academy of Sciences announced the list of elected academicians in 2021, and elected 65 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and 25 foreign academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences

Among the newly elected academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 12 are from the Department of Mathematical Physics, 11 from the Department of Chemistry, 10 from the Department of Life Sciences and Medicine, 9 from the Department of Earth Sciences, 10 from the Department of Information Technology and 13 from the Department of Technology

In addition, in 2021, 25 foreign academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences will be newly elected from 11 countries

Among them, there are 3 academicians in the field of chemistry, namely Yang Peidong (Chemistry, USA), Michael Gretzel (Physical Chemistry, Switzerland), Kendall Hawke (Theoretical and Computational Chemistry, USA)
