On April 2, 2019, ANZ Food Standards Agency (ANZ) issued Notice 76-19 to approve the use of stevia glycoside mixture (steviol glycoside) from a genetically modified brewing yeast strain as a powerful sweetener, according to the Food Partners Network.
it is understood that the stevia glycoside mixture is composed of Rebodyside M and D.
application was submitted by Cargill, Andred, and an ANZ Food Standards Agency is expected to seek advice on the application between June and August 2019.
4/5 December 2019, this application has been fully approved and is expected to be published in the ANZ Gazette in December 2020 if no other review requirements are required.
