Recently, global technology giant Apple announced that it will cooperate with Akamai, Etsy and Swiss Re to jointly develop new renewable energy projects in Illinois and Virginia, USA, with a total capacity of about 290MW.
The two projects will provide clean power to the PHM grid, which serves much of the eastern United States, including Virginia, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland
.
The partnership with Apple offers Akamai, Etsy and Swiss Re competitive pricing and terms of agreement that are not available
due to Apple's existing expertise and experience.
Apple's vice president of environment, policy and social initiatives said, "We at Apple are proud to provide 100% renewable energy
globally.
Along the way, we've developed a curriculum for other companies and organizations to purchase renewable energy and transform their own operations into greener electricity

The collaboration announced today demonstrates how companies of all sizes can work together to address climate change
.
