    (1) The significance of the measurement

Residual chlorine has three forms: ① free residual chlorine, such as HOC1, the OCI - like; ② residual chlorine compounds, such as NH2 2 CI, NHCl 2 , the NCI .

In the disinfection process of water treatment, the amount of liquid chlorine added to the water is determined by the amount of excess chlorine in the water and the form of residual chlorine

    (2) Analysis method

    1) Diethyl p-phenylenediamine (DPD) spectrophotometry

    2) Syringaldehyde azide spectrophotometry

    5.

Iron is the most common impurity in water.

The determination of iron in water adopts o-phenanthroline spectrophotometry

    Fe 3+ +e→Fe 2+

When measuring with o-phenanthroline, colored ions and the following elements interfere, silver and bismuth form precipitation, and some divalent metals such as cadmium, mercury, and zinc form slightly soluble complexes with reagents
