Flow cytometry was used to compare the B cell subpopulations of four groups of healthy controls, CCLE without SLE (CCLE+/SLE-), SLE with CCLE (SLE+/CCLE+), or SLE without CCLE (SLE+/CCLE-)

Serum was used to measure self-reactivity 9G4+, anti-double-stranded DNA, anti-chromosome and anti-RNA antibodies by ELISA, and anti-RNA binding protein (RBP) was measured by luciferase immunoprecipitation

CCLE+/SLE- patients have the same B cell subgroup abnormalities as SLE patients, although the degree is less than that of SLE patients: unconverted memory B cells are reduced and effector B cells are increased
.

Similarly, CCLE+/SLE- patients and SLE patients have higher levels of 9G4+ IgG autoantibodies , although CCLE+/SLE- patients have lower levels of anti-nucleic acid antibodies and anti-RBP antibodies

Decrease of unconverted memory B cells and increase of effector B cells.
CCLE+/SLE- patients and SLE patients have higher levels of 9G4+ IgG autoantibodies, similar to SLE- like B cell composition (higher serum antibody levels and more prone to disseminated skin damage) And normal B cell composition
