The Argentine red shrimp (frozen boat) production season started last week.
According to industry feedback, the marine weather conditions at the beginning of the season were not good (recently improved), the catch size was small, and the US and European catering industry demand increased, and prices were bullish.

A source told UCN that the Argentine fishery is still restricted by the new crown epidemic, and the price of frozen red shrimp on board has increased in recent months, and this trend will continue

“Only two of the five fishing sea areas are open.
Although shrimp resources are abundant, fishing vessels seem to be too concentrated.
In recent days, fishing specifications have also declined, with most of L3 and L4 specifications

Despite many challenges, exporters are still confident in this year's market
    .
According to official data from Argentina, from the beginning of this year to June 9th, Argentina has exported 52,762 tons of red shrimp, basically the same as last year (last year's production season was postponed due to crew salary issues)
    .

Another source said: “Demand in Europe has been strong, and products such as whole shrimp, headless shrimp, and frozen boat shrimp are all snapping up
    .
There is not much inventory left on the market.
    The summer months are coming.
European catering is expected to rebound rapidly.
Japan Importers are also actively stocking up

China's demand has also begun to rise recently.
Generally speaking, all market demands are recovering

On the other hand, the price of raw materials for the Argentine red shrimp terminal has increased significantly, which means that the price of frozen land products may be raised again, and the prices of value-added products and ship frozen products may be raised
    .

The above-mentioned sources said that some importers predict that prices may continue to be stable in the future, but the industry also needs to consider some of the risks brought by the new crown crisis to suppliers, as well as rising operating and transportation costs
