Chemists have studied the application of atmospheric plasma in improving the adhesion of polyurethane coatings on polypropylene fabrics.
atmospheric plasma treatment can modify the surface of textile materials at the nanoscale. The effectiveness of plasma surface change is closely related to the weaving structure and surface structure of the fabric
. The bonding properties of three different polypropylene (PP) fabrics with polyurethane (PU) coatings have been studied for different plasma processing times and power.
the puP's adhesion to plasma-treated samples was observed to increase significantly.
Enhanced Surface Performance
It is clear from the results obtained using various characterization techniques that atmospheric plasma treatment enhances surface performance (hydrophelicity, surface morphology and surface chemistry) without compromising volume (stretch strength) performance.
results show that plasma treatment parameters and fabric structure play an important role in adhesion improvement. In addition, the effectiveness of plasma treatment has been observed to be closely related to the structure of the fabric.
