According to the Ministry of Commerce's economic and trade news report, Australian network operator NBN announced that it will launch 5G field tests
in Melbourne recently.
NBN chief technology officer Ray Owen said the tests looked at how 5G technology could be utilised to optimise its wireless services
.
Currently, NBN has 2500 fixed wireless sites in Australia, providing broadband services
to 225,000 homes.
