    According to information released by the Queensland State Government in Australia , despite many challenges including severe weather events and freight disruptions, the export of Calypso® mangoes produced in Queensland to China has grown this season .
    Queensland Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Mark Furner said Perfection Fresh's continued increase in Calypso® mango exports to major Chinese cities including Guangzhou and Shanghai was a major achievement for the mango industry .


     
    Perfection Fresh and the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries have jointly funded a $250,000 mango consumer study for the 2020/21 marketing season

    Michael Simonetta, CEO of Perfection Fresh, said that the insights gained through consumer research continue to inform the marketing strategy for Calypso® mangoes entering the Chinese market

    He said Chinese consumers are very picky about the quality of mangoes, which affects their purchases
    .
    But they believe Australian produce is of high quality, especially mangoes with better flavour and texture, and are often given as gifts to family and friends
    .
    Chinese consumers are buying more, preferring to place orders online or buy at local fruit stores during the pandemic
    .
     
      Simonetta believes that Calypso® mangoes are popular with consumers due to their good taste and attractive color
    .
    The firmness of Calypso® mangoes can be maintained for 7-10 days or more after ripening, and the corresponding shelf life and sales period are also longer than other varieties, so it is an ideal choice for export
    .
     
      Statistics released by the Queensland Government show that the total export volume of Queensland mangoes for the 2020-2021 season is US$18.

    Its skin is golden with reddish tinge, the flesh is firm, plump and juicy, with small gluten-free pits and a rich flavor

    The Calypso® mango is the only new hybrid variety introduced in Australia in the past 30 years, with a market share of over 30% in Australia
