Austria's renewable energy industry has been fiercely appealing for policymakers over the past few months for "emergency packages" to ensure further expansion of clean energy

Austria's Federal Photovoltaic Association (PVA) welcomed the agreement and expects it to help avoid a 30%
decline in the solar market next year.
According to the measures, from next year until 2022, the government will allocate 36 million euros per year as part of the green power plan to finance
solar and energy storage.
Not only that, but Austria has also eliminated the requirement
to pay solar taxes on electricity generated by homes with rooftop arrays.
Under previous regulations, households with rooftop solar were able to use 25 MWh of their own electricity free of charge, but then had to pay a tax
of €0.
015 for each kWh of electricity generated thereafter during the life of the PV system.
The Austrian Federal Photovoltaic Association (PVA) said: "We are pleased to see that the action has been announced now and that electricity bills
for our own PV generation have finally been abolished.

of achieving a 100% renewable energy generation system by 2030.
PVA calculates that this will require about 15 GW of solar capacity, but Austria currently accounts for about 10%
of this amount.
