A paper published in the Journal of Medical Internet Research shows how the eNutri app developed by researchers in human nutrition and biomedical engineering at the University of Reading can help people eat healthier

Participants who received automated personalized nutrition advice had a 6 percent improvement in their healthy eating scores compared to a control group who received general healthy eating guidance

The eNutri app automatically assesses diet quality, giving users a "Healthy Eating Score" of 100

The Healthy Eating Score includes an assessment of intake of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, red meat, and processed meat, with users scoring higher when they reach recommended intakes

Then, individualized recommendations are targeted to their dietary area where they would benefit from a change
