On April 12, in the production line of the assembly workshop of BAIC Guangzhou Zengcheng Plant, BAIC New Energy EU260 slowly drove out, marking the official production of new energy vehicles

BAIC Group positions BAIC Guangzhou as a South China automobile production base, its own brand passenger car export base and a foreign joint venture cooperation platform, with a total project investment of 5 billion yuan and a planned total production capacity of 300,000 units per year
.
The plant was completed and put into operation in December 2013 and currently produces mid-to-high-end models
of BAIC's own brands, such as Shenbao X55, Shenbao X65 and Shenbao CC.
According to the plan, the Guangzhou company plans to produce 100,000 new energy vehicles within three years
.
In this regard, Daniel Zhang, general manager of BAIC New Energy Marketing Company, said with confidence: "The first batch of production here are our current market main sales models, such as EU260, EV160, EV200, etc
.
Our overall target for this year is 70,000 units, including 10,000 in
the Guangdong market.
The annual growth rate is expected to remain 2 to 3 times in the coming period, so we are still very confident in the scale of
100,000 vehicles in South China for three years.
