According to a new report from Navigant Research, more than 69,000 MW of new offshore wind capacity is expected to be installed between 2018 and 2027, with more than 100,000 MW of operating capacity
    by 2030.

According to the report, the offshore wind industry continues to grow at a steady rate, entering new markets
by continuing to reduce the cost of technology and increase the demand for renewable energy.

Offshore wind is installed less per year than onshore wind, but it is still an abundant clean energy solution
for coastal load centers with a large proportion of population and energy demand.

"Offshore wind will play an increasing role in the broader global energy transition, transitioning to a more diverse and flexible energy economy," said Jesse Broehl, senior research analyst at Navigant Research, "However, due to the capital-intensive nature of this market, market share analysis by country shows that wind turbine manufacturers are increasingly serving
    this fast-growing market.
    " ”

Regionally, offshore wind is rapidly becoming more cost-effective
    with each successive European bid.
Industry-leading countries such as the UK, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and Belgium are entering transitional phases with market-oriented policies and including highly competitive tenders
    for electricity contracts.

The United States also began competitive tenders
ahead of the installation of offshore projects along the northeast coast.
