India's Bhatti Telecom and Middle East and Europe cloud provider Gulf Bridge International (GBI) signed a strategic agreement on Tuesday to expand the capacity
    of GBI's India-Middle East-Europe submarine cable system.

Under the agreement, Bharti Telecom will acquire ownership of the Indian branch of GBI's India-Middle East-Europe submarine cable and will acquire capacity for the
    system's Middle East-Europe branch.

At the same time, both Bharti Telecom and GBI agreed to develop a "go-to-market" strategy and use the influence of their respective global networks to serve
    customers worldwide.

"The acquisition of regional ownership in India will help meet the growing demand for data, especially content in markets such as India, and meet the connectivity needs
of global operators and enterprise customers," Bharti Telecom said.

In addition, the partnership between Bharti Telecom and GBI will provide synergies between the two companies to leverage each other's strengths
    in their respective markets.

Launched in February 2012 to connect all countries around the Gulf, the GBI submarine cable is the first submarine cable to connect Iraq, extending east to India and west to Europe

As the first carrier-neutral operator in the Middle East, GBI offers the most comprehensive coverage in the region, with an additional 5-10 Tbps of regional capacity
