Babard Heavy Power Company Limited (BHEL) of India announced that it has placed an order
for four emission control equipment from NTPC Limited.

It is understood that these orders involve the supply and installation of flue gas desulfurization systems
    .
BHEL has been a major player in the field for over a decade and was one of the earliest entrants in the Indian emission control equipment market and successfully executed the FGD system
at Tata Power's Trombay Unit 8 in 2008.
Through these orders, BHEL is currently executing FGD systems for 17 NTPC and their joint ventures, with other projects being 3x250 MW Bongaigaon, Dadri being a 2x490 MW National Capital Power Station and Bangladesh being 2x660 MW Maitree
    .
Overall, BHEL has signed 32 FGD orders
    with customers to date.

BHEL is fully adapted to the requirements of
emission control equipment for thermal power plants in India.
In line with its philosophy of rapid technology assimilation and localization by providing state-of-the-art technology, BHEL has an ongoing technical cooperation with Japan's Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS) on FGD systems and with HLB Power in South Korea for large-size doors and dampers
    .

With over 183 utilities installed in India and abroad, and with over five decades of experience, BHEL's strong engineering credentials give companies confidence
in their ability to bring their power plants into compliance with revised emissions standards.
In addition to NTPC, the national utilities of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu have placed orders with BHEL for the supply of emissions control equipment, while discussions are currently underway with several other utilities
