    India's Bharat Heavy Power Co.
    , Ltd.
(BHEL) has reportedly announced that it will supply turbine equipment
for NPCIL's indigenously developed Kaiga Atomic Power Station.

It is understood that the complete steam turbine generator set and all steam generators of Nuclear Power India are manufactured and supplied
    by BHEL.
In terms of uninterrupted operation, the unit is now the preferred choice of all pressurized heavy water reactors in the
    world.

According to the statement, the installation has been in continuous operation since May 13, 2016, and exceeded the record
of 894 days of continuous operation held by Canada's Pickering Nuclear Power Plant (PNGS).

The first phase of the country's indigenous nuclear power program is ripe, with 18 PHWRs
    in operation.
12 PHWRs, representing 74% of the nuclear capacitance, are equipped with turbine-generator sets supplied by BHEL (10 units of 220 MW and 2 units of 540 MW).

BHEL is the only Indian company associated with the three phases of India's nuclear power programme and has been committed to developing indigenous nuclear power programmes
for over four decades since its inception.

BHEL has dedicated infrastructure and skilled manpower to meet special design, manufacturing and testing requirements
that comply with international norms and standards for various components/equipment in nuclear power plants.
The company has proven its capabilities
as a designer and manufacturer of equipment on the primary (reactor headers, end caps, etc.
) and secondary (turbines, generators, heat exchangers, etc.
) side of nuclear power projects.
