Conference voted on the adoption of the Biosecurity Law on the 17th. The law will come into effect on April 15, 2021.

The Biosecurity Law defines the important position and principles of biosecurity and stipulates that biosecurity is an important part of national security, and that biosecurity should be maintained in an integrated way, with overall development and security, and adhere to the principles of people-oriented, risk prevention, classification management and coordination.

biosecurity law has perfected the basic system of biosecurity risk prevention and control. It provides for the establishment of 11 basic systems, such as the biosecurity risk monitoring and early warning system, the risk investigation and assessment system, the information sharing system, the information release system, the directory and inventory system, the standard system, the biosecurity review system, the emergency response system, the investigation traceability system, the national access system and the overseas major biosecurity incident response system.

For major new outbreaks of infectious diseases, animal and plant outbreaks, biotechnology research, development and application, biosecurity in pathogenic microbiology laboratories, human genetic resources and biological resources security, biological
