Patients with large bone defects or elderly patients with weak bone regeneration capacity need bone graft materials to replace the missing bone.
Recently, the Department of Biomedical Engineering of Tsinghua University School of Medicine and the Institute of Physics and Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences reported that a bismuth alloy with low melting point, fast solid-liquid phase change, plastic shape, high mechanical strength, and good electrical and thermal conductivity has been reported.

Micro-CT imaging can observe the bismuth alloy implantation area and displacement.
