    Recently, researchers conducted a systematic overview and meta-analysis to examine the risk of type 2 diabetes (T2DM) in women with gestational diabetes (GDM)researchers collected data from 2000-19, including at least 12 months of follow-up after delivery, and physicians diagnosed diabetes20 studies, including a total of 133,2373 participants, of whom 67,956 were GDM patients and 1264417 were controllersOverall, the study included in this meta-analysis has a lower risk of biasWomen with primary GDM had an overall risk of T2DM 10 times higher than in the control group (9.51)Among women with a history of GDM, the cumulative incidence rate of T2DM among ethnic minority women was 16.46%, that of non-whites 15.58% and that of caucasians was 9.91%study found that women with gestational diabetes are at a high risk of type 2 diabetes, 10 times more at risk than the general population
