On September 16, Daimler Group CEO Dieter Zetsche said that Mercedes-Benz intends to form a cooperative alliance with rivals BMW and Audi to jointly manufacture power batteries
for the next generation of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids.

Thomas Weber, a member of Daimler AG's board member in charge of Mercedes-Benz's development business, said in an interview on the sidelines of the Frankfurt Motor Show that Mercedes plans to start selling electric cars with a range of 400 to 500 kilometers after some time, possibly in
    2018.
The volume of the battery pack that reaches this range will be larger, so the body volume of this electric vehicle will increase
    accordingly.

Meanwhile, Audi unveiled the e-tron quattro concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show
    .
The concept car is driven purely electric, has the latest battery and aerodynamics, and has a range of up to 500 km
    .
It is reported that the car will be the prototype of Audi's first electric SUV, the Audi Q6, and will be launched
    in 2018.
Audi (USA) CEO Scott Keogh revealed in an interview at the Frankfurt Motor Show that the electric car will join the Audi lineup
    in a few years.

Audi (USA) has suggested that the size of its electric vehicle products be consistent with existing popular crossovers, such as the Audi Q7 and Mercedes-Benz GLE
    .
According to future emissions regulations, electric vehicles are expected to account for a quarter or more
of the brand's sales in the United States after 2030.
