BP and potential customers sign a memorandum of understanding on clean hydrogen production facilities in the UK

According to news from Axunsi Energy on August 16th, according to a press release from BP, the company announced that it has reached an agreement with a series of new potential customers for its clean hydrogen production facility in Teesside, northeast England.

In March of this year, BP announced plans to build a clean hydrogen facility in H2Teesside, with a goal of producing up to 1 gigawatt of "blue" hydrogen by 2030—accounting for 20% of the UK's hydrogen target

Louise Jacobsen Plutt, BP’s Senior Vice President of Hydrogen and CCUS, said: “Teesside has all the attributes of a world-class clean hydrogen center-suitable natural resources, concentrated demand, potential for hydrogen storage and pipelines, and sufficient CCUS access.
Channels and the right skill base

BP has now signed a memorandum of understanding with four other potential customers-existing or planned new Teesside business-for the hydrogen production of the project

-CF Fertilizer Company is one of the world's largest manufacturers of ammonia and amino fertilizers.
It will expand the supply of clean hydrogen fuel to reduce combustion emissions that are difficult to reduce at its Bilingham plant.
The raw material source of carbon dioxide will be through the cooperation of Northern Endurance.
