Lightsource BP will build its largest solar project in Kansas and signed a 25-year PPA agreement
with Sunflower Power's subsidiary, Kansas Power.

The 20MW project in Stanton County will be built, owned and operated by Lightsource BP, with construction
scheduled to begin in early 2019.
In addition, the company will provide project financing
    .

The strategic partnership between BP and Lightsource, a prolific solar developer, was formed
last year after BP acquired a 43 percent stake in the British company.

The new PV plant will help reduce the load on transmission lines that are close to full capacity, so it will save cooperatively operated Central Kansas utilities so that they don't have to spend expensive upgrades
    .

The chairman of the Central Kansas Board of Directors said, "Harnessing the power of solar energy is not a new concept, and its economic conditions have changed, the falling cost of photovoltaic technology, and other industry dynamics make it the right choice to integrate solar energy into our generation
    .
    " ”

Lightsource, BP North America's chief commercial officer, believes that "seeing solar energy as both a cost-effective energy resource and a viable alternative to infrastructure upgrades is a win-win for the West Kansas community
    .
    " ”

Lightsource BP is actively developing cooperative, municipal and investor-owned utility projects
    across the United States.
    The company has offices
    throughout the country.

The project was developed in partnership with the National Renewable Energy Partnership (NRCO), which formed the Lightsource BP partnership
with its member owner, Central Kansas.

Lightsource BP said the prospect behind the current global solar market is prompting its re-entry, and the oil giant has now developed global growth plans
