Brit J Cancer: Seropositive with Helicobacter pylori and hepatobiliary cancer

Studies have shown that Helicobacter pylori may play a role in hepatitis, gallstones and liver and bile tumorsIn a recent study published in the journal British Journal of Cancer, researchers aimed to assess the correlation between 15 Helicobacterpylori serum positives and subsequent tumors by analyzing 74 cases of bile duct and 105 cases of liver cancer and 357 controls in thescreeningtrials of prostate cancer, lung cancer,colorectal cancer andovarian cancerafter adjusting the known risk factors for liver and bile cancer, the researchers calculated the ratio and the 95% confidence interval through conditional logistic regressionresearchers found no connection between Seropositive of Helicobacter pylori and bile ducts (1.76, 0.90-3.46) or liver cancer (0.87, 0.46-1.65)CagA seropositives were associated with both endpoints, although the association between the latter was not statistically significant (bile ducts: 2.16, 1.03-4.50; liver cancer: 1.96, 0.98-3.93), and neither was statistically significant after correcting multiple comparisonsin general, these results suggest a possible association between Helicobacter pylori and liver and bile cancer, suggesting that future studies of this association are of great value
