Bruntwood Technologies has announced an investment of 10 million pounds in the life sciences sector in the form of 50,000 square feet of office space and laboratory facilities in Alderley Park, Cheshire.new building is part of a plan to create more high-spec space for small biosciences companies in the north of England.The Mereside Life Sciences campus at Alderly Park already has a worldwide reputation for drug discovery and will provide more demand for early life sciences and biotech companies.construction of new facilities will help overcome the shortage of laboratory space in parts of the UK and the US in recent years, as the timetable for the development of new facilities remains a limiting factor for growth.Dr Chris Doherty, Managing Director of Alderley Park, said: "This is our first laboratory at Alderley Park and is ideal for small life sciences companies to grow. We see a high demand for high-quality laboratory facilities, and we offer not only unique services in terms of specifications, but also the ability to visit like-spirited business communities. We have become home to many early drug discovery companies, fast-growing contract research organizations, and there are two venture capital funds.
