my country has always advocated sustainable development and pursued a balance between economic development and ecological environment protection.
In recent years, my country has not only continued to promote environmental pollution control and ecological protection, but also actively promoted economic transformation and upgrading, reduced carbon emissions, and achieved green development.
This is not only a requirement for sustainable development, but also a manifestation of our country's responsibility as a major country.
During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, my country has made remarkable achievements in environmental protection, and this year, as the beginning of the "14th Five-Year Plan", it has set greater goals in terms of green development.

According to the 2020* Economic Work Conference, the key task of 2021 is to "do a good job in carbon peak and carbon neutrality", that is, strive to reach the peak of carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and strive to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
"Carbon neutrality" refers to the use of low-carbon emission technologies or carbon compensation methods to offset their own carbon dioxide emissions and achieve "zero emissions" of carbon dioxide.
Whether it is to control carbon dioxide emissions, promote carbon emissions to peak as soon as possible, or calculate carbon emissions and carbon offsets, it is necessary to use a carbon emissions statistical monitoring system.

Compared with environmental monitoring, the carbon emission monitoring system is more complicated.
Its core is carbon dioxide accounting, including direct and indirect carbon dioxide emissions.
Direct emission refers to the direct emission of carbon dioxide from the emission source, while indirect emission refers to the greenhouse gas emission caused by the use of purchased electricity and heat.
This part of the emission comes from the above-mentioned electricity and heat production.
The calculation of carbon dioxide has a calculation-based method and a measurement-based method.
The carbon dioxide produced by direct emissions can be continuously measured through relevant instruments and equipment to measure the concentration or volume of greenhouse gases, or can be calculated using formulas, while the amount of indirect carbon emissions can only be obtained by calculation.

The measurement-based method is monitored by monitoring equipment, and the equipment used in different occasions is also different.
Generally, the continuous emission monitoring system (CEMS) can be used to monitor carbon emissions, which has been widely used in the European Union.
Although my country has already applied a continuous emission monitoring system to monitor air pollutants on a large scale, there are still not many applications in carbon dioxide monitoring.
With the start of my country's carbon neutralization work, the demand for CEMS will also expand rapidly, and relevant standards are urgently required to be formulated.
In addition, carbon dioxide analyzers, particulate matter analyzers, etc.
can also play an important role in carbon emission monitoring.

Calculation-based methods also requireThe coordination of instruments and meters monitors the activity level data and related parameters of the emission subject.
Activity level data includes monitoring of energy consumption, raw material consumption, output of products or semi-finished products, etc.
Related parameters include low calorific value, carbon content per calorific value, oxidation rate, and process emission factors.
For example, carbon emission monitoring in the transportation industry usually requires monitoring of fuel consumption.

    Instrumentation
Carbon neutrality is related to all aspects of the industrial chain.
From the extraction of raw materials and energy to the entry of products into the market, every link needs to control carbon emissions, which also makes carbon emissions.
There is a broad market for monitoring instruments .
The "14th Five-Year Plan" puts forward new long-term goals, and the emphasis on carbon neutrality will also give carbon emission monitoring instruments the right time for development.
