On June 7th the international journal Nature Communications published a research paper entitled The Signaling Receptor MCAM Society and Planar Polarity during the Morphogenesis study, in collaboration with Meng Anming of the School of Life Sciences of Tsinghua University.
The study used zebrafish as a model to study the developmental function of CD146 (MCAM) and found that CD146 can simultaneously activate the NFAT transcription reaction and JNK activity, so that the top and front polarity of cells are established synchronously, so as to contive in space-time.
The study also suggests that molding molecules with catalytic activity may be a real spatial trigger for the establishment of top-bottom polarity, and that the polar distribution formed by CD146-mediated vesicle transport may be the initial initiation factor for cell polarity formation.
addition, the study found that the absence of CD146 not only leads to abnormal development of the embryonic organ of zebrafish, The Kupffer cyst cavity, but also leads to subsequent, systemic organ asymmetric distribution anomalies.
cell polarity refers to the asymmetric distribution of specific cytostogenic groups in a certain spatial direction in cells.
cell polarity plays a key role in cell migration, organ formation and the establishment of asymmetric distribution of visceral organs.
2010, "How is embryonic asymmetry determined?" "It is listed by the American journal Science as one of the 125 most challenging scientific issues that humans will be working on.
, abnormality in cell polarity is associated with the state of many diseases, such as cancer.
therefore, it is of universal significance to reveal the unsolved mystery of cell polarity formation for the deep understanding of the physiological and pathological processes of cell polarity participation.
cell polarity includes the top-bottom asymmetric polarity in the vertical direction and the front-end-back asymmetric polarity in the horizontal direction.
in the embryonic organ development of the morphological process, the top-bottom polarity often guides the precise arrangement of the same type of cells, while the front and rear polarity often controls the growth direction of cilic hair.
development of cancer is often accompanied by the disappearance of these two cell polarity to make cancer cells more able to exercise.
the establishment of these two completely different polaritys, which are performed and completed by two different sets of proteins.
the mechanism of the establishment, contitle and even association of the two polarity of decoding cells is a great challenge in biology.
, however, the two cell polarity studies are being studied separately in the relevant papers currently published.
This result provides a universal and regular explanation for a deep understanding of the life mystery of the self-assembly process of cells in morphology, and provides new evidence to overcome the challenging scientific problem of "the mechanism of asymmetry establishment in embryonic period".
, the study provides a mechanism for a better understanding of the function of CD146 molecules in embryonic development, angiogenescity, and tumor metastasis.
