Celanese to build world-class LCP factory in China

Celanese Corporation, a global chemical and specialty materials company, announced today that it will build a world-scale liquid crystal polymer (LCP) plant in China in phases to support the rapid growth of its high-performance Vectra® and Zenite® LCP product lines

"5G, the Internet of Things, and smart cars are just a few of the trends driving the need for materials that support device miniaturization, improved signal integrity, and circuit densification," said Stefan Kutta, vice president of engineering materials at Celanese.
"The unique advantages of liquid crystal polymers performance and the ability to address these challenging needs

The investment is aimed at supporting new capacity of around 20,000 tonnes of LCP per year

“China will remain a high-growth region for global electronics and automotive customers, with more than 50% of global LCP demand currently coming from China
