Time-limited diet (TRF) schemes have become increasingly popular !----;recently, researchers conducted the first human trial (clinicaltrials.gov NCT03867773) to compare the effects of two popular forms of TRF (4 and 6 hours) on weight and heart metabolic riskobese adults were randomly assigned to 4-h TRF (feeding between 3 and 7 p.m.), 6-h TRF (feeding between 1 p.mand 7 p.m.) or control group (no time limit for meals)After 8 weeks of, 4-hour and 6-hour TRF decreased significantly in terms of weight (3%), insulin resistance and oxidative stress compared to the control groupwithout counting calories, the energy intake of both TRF groups was reduced by 550 kcal/daythese results show that 4-and-6-hour TRF induces a mild weight loss within 8 weeks and shows the prospect of being a weight-loss interventionthese diets may also improve some aspects of heart metabolic health.
